In May of 2011 Nintendo released a new firmware update to their DSi system---NDSi V1.4.2 that effectively blocked nearly all flashcards. It took weeks for flashcard teams to develop their fix for DSi v1.4.2. This update comes as somewhat of a shock to the community. Here's the latest up to date information. Also I ranked the flashcard according to the release date of dsi1.4.2 patch.
R4i Gold
The r4i series were the first to release a work around for DSi 1.4.2 and that has seemed to carry them through this round of updates with flying colors. You can download the V1.4.2b R4i 3DS gold upgrade patch here and V1.4.2 patch for R4ids gold (NON-3DS) for older r4i series here.
Supercard DSTWO
SC team was the second team to release the fix for DSi 1.4.2 on their official forum. This trustworthy team released the patch within 24 hours after the supercard dstwo flashcard was blocked. This flashcard costs a little bit more than the r4i series, but it is worth. You can download the Supercard DSTWO Firmware 1.11 here
R4i-SDHC
R4i series flashcards have widely been owned by many NDS player users, and it is a very nice card. The r4i-sdhc team released the updating patch in a very short time after the dsi firmware update. You can download the r4i-sdhc 1.4.2 version here and r4i-sdhc 3ds 1.4.2 version here
M3i Zero
Finally (for now), the M3i Team has also released a new F_CORE.DAT firmware, adding compatibility with DSi and DSi XL firmware update 1.4.2 .All M3i Zero cards sold on www.oz3ds.com now will incorporate this update so you won’t have to flash your card. You can download the M3i Zero F-Core 1.8.2 Compatibility with DSi/XL firmware 1.4.2 here
The Acekard 2i released a brand new firmware released with a new game icon----Alex Rider: Stormbreaker last time when the DSi 1.4.1 updated. This time we will keep our eyes on them.

Just a heads up to all Nintendo DSi and DSi XL owners… there’s a new firmware update out. The update will bring your system to firmware 1.4.2, and there’s currently no word on what this new update even does. My guess would be that it prepares the system for the DSiWare system transfer feature for the Nintendo 3DS when that update arrives. I’ll update this post if I find out more information, though everything seems the same for me after updating.
UPDATE: Looks like the only thing this new firmware update does is block flash carts, like the Acekard 21, EZ-Flash Vi, and Supercard DSTwo. Of course, the flash carts can be updated but for now this update will block them. Any other new things added with the update would be behind-the-scenes stuff so no new features to play around with, which is unfortunate. This is the third firmware update and only the first one had a new feature. Oh well, I guess we have the 3DS now.
