I am going to do a review of the R4i Gold 3DS. All thanks go to R4iDS.cn for providing the R4i Gold 3DS.

The R4i Gold 3DS provides great compatibility with it's official firmware and especially outstanding with Wood R4i Gold . It fits perfectly in the slots of DS lite, DS Phat, DSi and 3DS.

Using the normal R4i Gold, the card cannot be recognised by the 3DS. Looking up on the Internet and by contacting the R4i Gold 3DS staff they all said it was a hardware difference . Sadly there is 1 step pulling you back : You need to download the kernel to your Micro SD before you even play You can download the official firmware or the alternative, Wood R4i Gold.

This flashcart works great and loads games very fast, Micro SDHC support is also an advantage of getting this cart. It has Moonshell 2 which enables you to watch movies , listen to music and much more. Reading e-books is also good.Overall I am happy with this cart ,It has a much better cheat engine and a fast loading system. It contains a case for 2 cartridges, a Micro SD card reader, and the R4i Gold 3DS itself. When you boot the official firmware, you will realise that the interface is totally different of that from the official R4DS. It has a nicer look and seems very smooth.Unlike some other micro SD slot 1 solutions, the R4i Gold 3DS has absolutely no chips that stick up under the label or casing. Everything is smooth and casing (even under the label) covers the entire PCB with no "cut-outs" to make way for protruding chips. When you launch a ROM file for the first time, the R4i Gold 3DS wil tell you that it can't find a .SAV file.MULTIMEDIA - This option simply starts Moonshell - a popular homebrew multimedia playback and general file manager and launcher application that is quickly becoming the standard for the majority of flash kits. Moonshell has been around for a long time now, and it's one of the best homebrew applications ever made..As Moonshell is not unique to the R4i Gold 3DS, we will not cover it in this review. Results:
Backup ROM of New Super Mario Bros. on R4i Gold 3DS = 4 hours 20 minutes
Retail New Super Mario Bros cart = 4 hours 55 minutes
Conclusion
The R4i Gold 3DS is a slot 1 DS flash kit designed to play ROMs. I may be stating the obvious here, but the point is; that's what it's meant to do, and it does it very well. From our extensive testing, so far we can
confirm that the R4i Gold 3DS is 100% compatible and doesn't suffer any slow downs in game. A very impressive result! (As with all flash kits, the claim of 100% compatibility may change once and IF an incompatible game is discovered).

R4i-sdhc.com team released a new item R4I-SDHC 3DS FlashCardto supports 3DS console,it seems that more and more flashcards join the list of 3DS Flashcards,some of them were mde it by updated its kernel,like AK2i, DSTwo,M3izero and so on,while, some of them gained it by released a new items,like R4i gold 3DS Flash card.
Today, I will share r4i-sdhc team's new items with all of your guys and mainly embarked on its Wi-Fi functions. R4I-SDHC 3DS Card  new kernel is v1.30b. Just like the R4i-SDHC V1.4.1, 3DS R4i-SDHC flash card can update its kernel by Wifi as well . Following is the instruction on how to use wifi to make it :
What you need to do before Using :
Make sure there is an available WIFI network before you start to configure the WIFI setting for the R4i-SDHC 3DS flashcard.You can use WIFI router to setup the WIFI network at home.
User Manual :
1．Run the NDS games which support WIFI feature such as Mario Kart, (you can download 0168 – Mario Kart DS Game Select the "NINTENDO WFC" from the main menu to enter WIFI configuration.
2．After enter the "NINTENDO WFC". Select the "NINTENDO WFC SETTING" to continue the WIFI configuration setting.
3．Screen below will be appear after enter select the "NINTENDOWFC SETTING".
Press the blue "NintendoWi-Fi Connection Settings" button.
4．After enter the "NintendoWI-FI Connection settings", three connection options will appear, that meant you can configure three differentWIFI setting. For instance first for home, second for school and third for friend place.
5．Choose any one of them which is not been configure yet，Press "Search for an
Access Point" to search for the available WIFI access point.
6．NDS machine is searching for available WIFI network access point. Make sure WIFI network is available during searching.
7．In the example 2 WIFI access point was found, "ChinaNet-jRhj" requests a password or pin number. Another access point "TP-LINK" does not request the password or pin number. Both access points shown quite strong WIFI connection signal. Here we choose the "TP-LINK" which does not request any connection password. You also can use the "ChinaNet-jRhj" if the WEP password was known.
8．Save this connection setting. And this connection is ready to use.
9．Back to the main WIFI configuration menu.
10．The "Connection 1" wil  show "Ready". That meant you already successfully configure the WIFI.
11．You can use the "Test Connection" to test the configuredWIFI access point.For those access point needed WEP password or key, Please using the "Edit" button to configure the WEP Key or password forWIFI access point.
